At the Huawei Developers Conference held on October 22, Huawei announced two pieces of gratifying news to the public. One is that Huawei's Hongmeng Harmony OS system has been installed on more than 150 million devices; the other news is that Huawei announced that it will release the first Hongmeng HarmonyOS cockpit car by the end of the year.
Since its release, Huawei Hongmeng System has positioned itself as a distributed operating system oriented to all scenarios, and will be mounted on various smart terminals that are common in daily life. With cars increasingly becoming a new type of smart terminal, it is not surprising to release a car equipped with Harmony OS, but some questions immediately arise: Will Huawei’s previous promise of "never build a car" be a joke?
Huawei did not break its promise this time. The model with the Hongmeng HarmonyOS cockpit to be released by the end of the year will still be a product in cooperation with Cyrus, positioning it as a medium-sized luxury SUV. From "Huawei Smart Selection" to equipped with a smart cockpit, Huawei's ambitions do not stop there. Huawei also hopes that through the Hongmeng system, the user experience of the smart cockpit will exceed that of other manufacturers around the world.
Where is the wisdom of the HarmonyOS cockpit? Huawei has now launched in-depth open source cooperation with nearly a hundred software and hardware manufacturers, which can achieve joint definition of hardware interfaces, hardware plug-and-play, and interconnection and collaboration between multiple hardware. The Harmony OS cockpit hopes to break the previous dilemma of solidification of car and machine system hardware, less selection of matching applications, untimely update and slow speed.
